Homestay

The local homestays in Myrtle Beach are 30-45 minutes or under from the center. Many of the host homes are university staff or faculty. Our kind and compassionate host families care about the students and strive to make them feel welcome and a part of the American family, providing many cultural and learning experiences. The homes are comfortable and welcoming to students. The Homestay Coordinator knows the area well and is always seeking great homes for the students. Most students have access to the beach, and host families are happy to take them to local shopping and restaurants. The majority of the host families that bring students to the center and pick them up after class. The bus system in the area is safe, right outside of the classroom building, and routes run every two hours. Students can take the bus to the beach, the mall, or the Boardwalk! The local homestays in Myrtle Beach are 30-45 minutes or under from the Center. Many of the host homes are university staff or faculty. Student Residence (On Campus)

University Place Apartments, a beautifully remodeled housing complex for Coastal Carolina, is five short minutes from the center by the free shuttle and is located on the campus. The low-cost apartments come complete with bedding, towels, kitchen supplies, washing necessities, and a common area that is shared by four ELS students. The beautiful onsite pool, patio, volleyball courts, dining hall and single bedrooms with private bathrooms are highly desired by ELS students. Each apartment houses four students and is located in a building where students easily can make friends and adjust quickly to the area. It is only a short walk to local restaurants and grocery stores. Safety is a high priority in the student residence, and the gated entrances, emergency call boxes and a staffed front desk 24/7 combine to make the student residence a very enjoyable place to live.
